Congress has blocked US$192 million in aid to Palestine after their bid to the UN for statehood. The money was to be used for health, food and humanitarian efforts.
Apparently, the move to ask to be recognised as a country is "very dangerous and ill-advised", though I haven't been able to find anything specifying why. So far the only danger I've seen in it is that it's resulting in the US throwing a hissy fit.
